Valentines Cupcakes - Cursive Love Cupcakes


Hi Friends! I have quite the treat for you! If you follow me on Instagram, you know I've been working a bunch on some Valentines Day cupcakes for an upcoming TV segment. I wanted to not only create cupcakes that would be easy to master the first time, but ones that look like they took a lot of effort. Catch my drift?

So for the next 6 posts, I'll be sharing how I made these 6 cupcakes, and hopefully it will inspire you to jump into your kitchen and make a batch or two for Valentines Day.

These first cupcakes were a no-brainer. I feel like we see love notes on candy hearts, and even written on cookies for Valentines Day. I wanted to add a touch of elegance, and a bit of personalized flair for this cupcake. All it takes is a bit of melting chocolate, parchment paper, and a piping bag with a small circle tip. That's it! Spell out whatever lovely note you'd like to have on your cupcake, makes sure it's in cursive so your letters are all stuck together, and you have yourself an easy, but darling, Valentines Cupcake. Directions are below:


Cursive "love" Cupcakes


INGREDIENTS:
melting chocolate (candy melts, etc, you can find them in the cake decorating section at your grocery store)
frosted cupcakes

MATERIALS: 
piping bag with a small circle tip (as small as circle as uncooked spaghetti to fit through)
a glass (cup) 
parchment paper


DIRECTIONS: 
1. Add piping tip to your piping bag, place in a large glass cup with the top of the piping bag flapped over on each side of the cup. Set aside. 
2. Lay out parchment paper over a flat surface. 
3. Melt your chocolate in the microwave (I did about 1/2 cup for 30 seconds), and stir. Pour into prepared piping bag. Careful to not let the melted chocolate escape from the tip. 
4. Carefully pipe cursive letters "love" onto the parchment paper. It might take a bit of practice, but you'll get there. The faster you pipe the letters, the better your melted chocolate will behave. 
5. Let cool for at least 10-15 minutes, then add to your freshly frosted cupcakes.
